Linnworks Requirements

Connection Requirements:

  • An active account with Linnwork (only available for the web-based version of Linnworks).

  • Linnworks Username and Password

Order Import Requirements:

  • Include a Ship To address.

Connect a Linnworks store to ShipStation

To connect your Linnworks store to ShipStation:

  1. Log into your Linnworks account.

  2. Click Shipping, then select ShipStation.

  3. Click the Add New button.

  4. Enter a ShipStation Integration Name.

  5. Select a folder for ShipStation to export orders from.

    If not specified, ShipStation will pick up all orders except the ones assigned to fulfilment centres.

  6. Select a tag that will appear next to the order when exported to ShipStation.

  7. Select a ShipStation Default Service that will be assigned to Linnworks orders when passing to ShipStation.

  8. Select Linnworks Default Service that will be assigned in case the service used to process the order is not mapped with any Linnworks shipping services.

  9. Click Create to generate your URL to Custom XML Page.

  10. Select the Linnworks tile.

  11. Enter your Linnworks Username and Password, as well as the URL to Custom XML Page.

After you've completed the connection steps, your store will be connected to ShipStation. You'll be taken to the store's Settings page to adjust the store-specific settings like branding, notification preferences, and product handling.

Connect a Linnworks store to ShipStation

To connect your Linnworks store to ShipStation:

The ShipStation integration with Linnworks supports the following standard features:

This integration allows you to define the Status Mappings for the store connection.

ShipStation will import the customer's email address with the order and can send customer shipment confirmation and delivery emails, which are configured in your Store Settings.

ShipStation will import the customer phone number.

ShipStation will import the shipping method chosen by the customer at time of checkout.

ShipStation will import the payment method used to pay for the order.

ShipStation will import discount and coupon information for the order.

ShipStation is able to determine if an order was placed as a gift.

ShipStation will import internal notes or order activity from the selling channel.

ShipStation will import notes left by the customer at time of checkout. Displayed as Customer notes in ShipStation's Legacy Layout.

ShipStation will import the total order weight from the selling channel.

ShipStation will import the weight for each line item in the order.

ShipStation will import an image URL for each line item in the order.

ShipStation will import item options (such as color or size) for each line item in the order.

ShipStation will import a product stock location for each line item in the order.

The shipment update ShipStation sends to the selling channel will include any Notes to Buyer set on the order in ShipStation.

Additional Details about the Linnworks Integration

  • ShipStation cannot properly update Linnworks when an order is split through ShipStation. Any orders that need to be split should be split on Linnworks.

  • Most of the configuration options for the integration are managed through Linnworks. Review the Linwwork's ShipStation integration page for more details. What it means: This error message typically means that ShipStation is either not providing the correct credentials or trying to contact the incorrect URL.

What to do: To resolve this error, reconfigure your Linnworks store connection in ShipStation to correct the credentials and store URL.
