Discogs

Discogs is an online database and marketplace for music collectors and enthusiasts who want to track their collections, explore discographies, and connect with other music fans. Their platform is a comprehensive resource for cataloging and discovering music in various formats, including vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, and digital releases. Discogs’ shippers are merchants who use the Discogs marketplace to manage and fulfill orders for music items.

Discogs Requirements

Connection Requirements:

  • An active account with Discogs.

  • Discogs API token

    You can generate the API token from your Discogs account in Settings > Developer.

Order Import Requirements:

  • Must include a Ship To address.

Connect a Discogs Store to ShipStation

To connect your Discogs store to ShipStation:

  1. Log in to your Discogs account to locate or generate your Discogs API Token.

    Go to Profile > Settings > Developers. From here you can copy your Discogs API Token or click Generate to make a new one. Making a new API token may disrupt pre-exisitng store connections.

  2. Select the Discogs tile.

  3. Copy and paste your Discogs API token into the Token field of the Set Up Store Connection popup and click Connect.

After you've completed the connection steps, the store's Settings page will open. You can adjust your store-specific settings like branding and customer notifications, if you wish. Or click Save to close.

The ShipStation integration with Discogs allows for the following additional features:

If a store allows custom statuses, this means you define that statuses your orders use in your selling channel. In most cases, if you have custom statuses you'll need to define which ShipStation statuses each custom order status corresponds to.

ShipStation will import the customer's email address with the order data and can send shipment confirmation and delivery emails to that email address (configured in your Store settings).

ShipStation will import the customer phone number with the order data.

ShipStation will import the shipping method chosen by the customer during their store checkout.

ShipStation will import the payment method used to pay for the order.

ShipStation will import discount and coupon information for the order.

ShipStation can determine if an order is a gift from the order data sent by the store.

ShipStation will import internal notes or order activity from the store into the ShipStation Internal Notes field.

ShipStation will import notes provided by the customer when they made their purchase.

Discogs Integration Notes

  • A Discogs store can only have one currency at a time. The seller may change it, but then all of their inventory will change currencies. Currency is locked for Discogs orders.

  • Discogs does support Pickup for orders, but not through ShipStation.

  • Discogs does not currently support Custom Field Mapping.

  • All weights for Discogs are in grams.
